I’ve been thrift shopping on thredUP for about a year now, and I absolutely love it. As a working mom, I don’t have a ton of time to shop for clothes and as we all know, kids = $$$ (especially daycare!). Below I share with you a little about what it is, why you should shop there, and tips for maximizing your shopping experience. Enjoy!
What is ThredUp?
ThredUp is an online thrift site that primarily sells children and women’s clothing. They recently have expanded to add jewelry, shoes, and accessories. I have found a ton of items from some of my favorite brands – Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, JCrew, etc.
I’ve also found some great high end brands for kids like Hanna Andersson, Tea Collection, Boden, etc.
The shopping experience is great – you can browse through many items and narrow them down based on your fit and interest. I love that I can find my style and I don’t have to go to multiple stores.
Shipping is free over $79, but be on the lookout for free shipping codes.
Returns? Easy! You can choose to mail back via USPS for store credit (mostly what I do) OR you can pay for shipping and receive your money back. It’s super easy.
Customer Service – I’ve had great experiences with their Customer Service. Anytime I’ve asked a question on their online chat, they have responded that day and every issue I’ve had has been resolved.
Quick Tips for Shopping thredUP
- Download the app! – They offer a ton of great promotions and deals through the app.
- Measure yourself – Seriously, this has helped me a ton. I measured myself and now I can look at the chest measurements in tops and dresses to get an idea of what might fit. Obviously, it depends on the type of fabric, but knowing my measurements has helped me figure out what fits and what doesnt.
- Search for “New with Tags” or “Like new” – I personally prefer to buy clothing that new or like new so I always select these options.
